I'm using Illustrator CS.
I have a Pentium 4 2.8ghz Hyperthreading Dell with 512 RAM and a 7200 RPM hard drive.
I just started experimenting with the 3D feature. "EXTRUDING" works fine, but trying to BEVEL usually locks up my computer with the RENDERING ARTWORK message. This is with preview turned on or off.
Is there an Illustrator setting in preferences that would help the 3D component run faster?
I can't believe I would need more memory -- I'm only experimenting with words like "CAT" and "DOG" for 3 D effects.
