Slipstreaming SP2

I have a Dell that I have sold in favour of an IBM machine I picked up without an OS. The Dell came with XPP (which I removed before selling it) and I have installed XPP on the IBM and even have the Dell help icon on the Start Menu. I want to slipstream SP2 onto a new CD for future use if necessary.
Can I incorporate the installation key into the new CD so that I don't have to re-enter it when I reinstall XP?

Check out N-Lite it gives you hundreds of options on building your own Custom XP build, all you will need is the original disk and the 300mb SP2 file.

1.) if you wish to do it by hand, then check out this excellent article:

2.) if that is too much for you, then I suggest you get nLite (

with this program you can integrate SP2 and all HOTFIXES to date onto a XP CD, and create an unattended installation... (ergo an installation CD with integrated Key)...
