I have a Merlin Magix 2.0 with two PRI’s. One PRI is from the local carrier and one is setup as a “Merlin-PBX”. I am seeing about 50 slip errors for every 15 minute interval on the Merlin-PBX PRI, which leads me to believe that there is a sync issue.

System A’s primary clock source is the local carrier (Loop). When I go to “Maintenance -> slot -> (local loop PRI) - > clock” it says “active: yes” and “loop”, when I check the other span (Merlin-PBX) it says “active: no” and “loop”.

System B only has one circuit, it is the PRI (merlin-ntwk) back to system A. The clock source is the merlin-ntwk span. When I status the clock it says “active: yes” and “loop”.

Should the Merlin-PBX PRI on system A be set to loop or local? If it should be local, how would I change it?

Set A to primary clock off the outbound T-1, (loop), set Secondary to the Point to Point (Local), set B primary to clock off the point to point (loop). You already have one set as network the other to pbx. This should do it. TipHelp@charter.net
