I've created a few databases and noticed in Layout mode of some of them, there are arrows pointing up that seem to indicate sliding. Other databases don't indicate when sliding occurs. Could somebody tell me why these upward facing arrows appear? How do I turn them off and do they have any affect? Appreciate it.

Tugger,

The arrows do indicate that they slide. You will notice however that they only slide in the PREVIEW mode or when printed. The do not actually slide in the BROWSE or FIND modes.

To set a field to slide; from the LAYOUT mode make the field active by clicking in it. Then pull down FORMAT | SLIDING / PRINTING. From there it should be fairly obvious what to do next.

To show which fields have been formatted to slide; from the LAYOUT mode pull down VIEW | SHOW and put a checkmark next to sliding objects. That turns on the arrows that you have been seeing.

Hope this helps.
