In the current version, I don't think so. Adobe's Lightroom is reported to have that functionality (although some report difficulty in use), so one would expect it in Aperture's next +.1 version.
BTW, did you get Aperture to work on your G4 or did you go to a G5?

Dear Mr. Drlex:
I must say our company is the proud owner of a beautiful and brand new G5. We also own Apertue and it costs too much and gives too much trouble. Lightroom makes a fine slideshow and it was free!(at least the beta version is). Thank you very much for your tip. We'll do it in Lightroom.
