slices create lines when uploaded on web

I'm trying to make an e-newsletter all in Fireworks. Can't seem to make text be linked to outside webpages, so I created slices in rectangle shape around the text I want to be a hyperlink. However, when viewing the page on the web, then putting it into e-mail, I get white lines all over where the grid for the slices is laid out. How to avoid?
