slice and dice

Hi All,
Can any body give me suggestions that What is meant by a
Slice and dice.In cognos in what kind of situations we 'll use this feature.

To change and arrange data when you

choose different categories for your report

drill down or drill up

drag dimensions from the dimension line

swap rows, columns, or layers

filter information

For example, you have a report that shows the number of products sold by each branch at the end of the last quarter. You can slice and dice information to show revenue over the last two months for each product line.
