Slanting column header text in Word table

I know that in Excel you can change the alignment of a cell you are using as the column header by choosing format,cell, alignment, and using the arrow make the header slant from the bottom left of the cell to the top right of the same cell, making long column labels easier to read and look better overall. But I can't seem to do that in a MSWord 97 or 2000 table. The only options are to align text right, left, or center. Any suggestions? I think I have searched Google endlessly the last couple of days without any luck.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough in the first post. I don't want the text to be straight up and down, I need it to slant to the right.
