Slackware 8 + Intellimouse = :-(

I successfully installed Slackware 8 on my computer last night. All went perfectly! I ran xf86config and set up everything. When I ran startx though, I boot into KDE and my PS/2 M$ Intellimouse won't work. When I move the mouse, the pointer shoots up to the top left of the screen and goes all crazy. Totally unuseable. I can ctrl-alt-delete out of X and back to shell prompt and shutdown from there. Any ideas how to get my mouse working?
