What methods do you use to neatly store the 10' slack typically required in each equipment/telecom room? If the horizontal runs enter the room in conduit that terminate to cable tray it does not leave many options?
typically we run cable tray around the room, and also through the middle, that way you can take you cable half way around the room and back to the rack. Lots of room for storage a service slack.
In small comm rooms we have secured 4-J Hooks(2 above and 2 below) mounted above the ceiling above where we drop the main runs down the wall to the rack. It makes a nice loop that could be worked out easily.
For the smaller TR's without ladder rack, BICSI recommends the use of a figure 8 if you must coil the cable. Just don't put it in a circular loop. I've heard that it degrades the signal.
