Hi,

Been trying to set up my SL1100 to move from ISDN to SIP trunk. Sipgate trunk at the moment to test, poss permanant but may be Gamma.
Getting there slowly.
Mostly analogue ports (dect phones etc) & just one MLT.

Not essential but would have been a handy benefit, I think I have fundamentally misunderstood some of the possible benefits with the VOIP ability.

Is it only NEC keyphones/NEC Dect that will work on VOIP extensions?

I had hoped that I could install a softphone & perhaps even a gigaset N300 IP DECT phone but now I have the installation & basic operation of course I cannot see a way to register a non NEC device to an extension. Mostly missing in the softphone settings and also the SL1100

The softphone wants direct registration with a SIP/VOIP provider, stupidly I figured there would be a way to direct softphone to the SL1100 IP on a specified IP & extension.

I already have a cheap gigaset IP dect & softphone, don't really need expensive NEC dect phones.

Is this possible or have I go it all wrong.

Many thanks I/A

You can install 3rd party STD SIP phones, soft or hard. You will need to verify that you have 3rd party STD SIP licenses. You will also need the VoIP daughterboard, plus 2 static IP addresses on the LAN.

Hi,

Yes I have the VoIP db & 2 statics, Is actually working, can dial in & dial out but not 100% yet, think some setting with the PBX need tuning,

20 seconds before starts to ring when dialing out
Also only intermittently get the dial tone when trying to seize the SIP trunk. perhaps 30% of time I get busy?
but can always ring in.

Not sure about the 3rd party STD licenses though, how do I check that, is that via NEC.

Could you give me a rough guide to how I would even start to register e.g. 3rd party soft phone on a SL1100.

Thanks again

Hi,

Many thanks for that.

No licence, not sure if you still can & where to buy UK & cost if not really essential especially as SL1100 is sort of obsolete
Also looks tricky to set up but will read more.

The # worked, I remember now reading something about timers and I had altered 20-31-05 Trunk Inter Digit from 10 to 3 but not helped so thought some other issue, seeing how # worked, made me look further with timers & now realised its 21-01 & that worked.
Thanks again
