Hello,

Does anybody know how to extract the data from a sktempcard file into a format that can be imported into an skcard?

Thanks,
Abe

Dear Abe,

Sorry about the delay in replying but was on holiday etc.

I pres
First shut down Sidekick and then backup both the SKTemp card and the Cardfile that the data was being added to when the crash happened which will have the same name.
Back them up to another location then delete the SKTemp Cardfile.
Duplicate the Original Cardfile and rename it Cardfile-Old.

Start Sidekick and open the original Cardfile and delete all the cards.
Shut down Sidekick choosing save when it asks you to and now open the Folder using Windows Explorer and copy the original SKTemp which you backed up somewhere else into the Folder which it was in originally.

Open Sidekick again and hopefully it should ask you if you want to replace the Lost Data which it found into the Cardfile.
You then have to work out if that was the data.

Now I am not saying that the above should work and I am in a hurry so the explanation is a bit shall I say it.... confusing but it is worth a try.

Dear halfbroken,

Sometimes I'm a twit.....

I just realised that if you just want the data, locate it with Explorer and choose to open it with notepad; you will then see the data as it was edited last.

An addendum to the above:

Whatever computer I am using, I always put a shortcut to Notepad in the sendto menu
It helps in these situations but do not edit any files with it.
After you have even copied from it close notepad but do not save any changes.
