I have some text on a circular path (on the inside of the path) and need to skew it. We don't have the italic version of it and skewing will be close enough with this one. Problem is that it's fit to the curve; would be a 3-second fix, otherwise. Haven't converted it to curves yet...
Thanks in advance!

hi eric,

...you will have to use a work around method, by using photoshop (whereby you can apply a "faux italic") and save out to PDF (to preserve vector) and import into illustrator...

...or you can use indesign and skew the text using the character palette, then either copy and paste back into illustrator or save to PDF and open back in illustrator...

...both methods will mean the text is not live or editable on the path when inside illustrator...

...illustrator (for whatever reason known to Adobe) doesn't behave the same as photoshop and indesign do when trying to fake italics on a curve...

...only other thing i can think of is use italic fonts in illustrator where possible so to avoid workarounds...
