Hi there

I have just upgraded to Windows ME but I cannot find any info on HD sizes. I was limited to certain size hard disks (unless i partitioned them) with my previous version of Win95. Does WinME allow for large unpartitioned hard disks, if so I want to add a new extra HD to my PC.

Many thanks :)

WinME will read disks up to about 2 terrabytes.
It's usually a limitation of BIOS as to partition/disk sizes.
DOS 6.xx will only read up to 2 gig.
win95 will read up to 8 gig.
win98SE/ME will read up to 17gig (I think it's that, could be wrong).
What I mean by "win95 will read...", is the DOS version of fdisk will read up to that number, not the OS/GUI itself, which has no limitation. Cheers,

Anything reading the FAT32 system will read up to 2 TB according to Microsoft, assuming no bios or lba translation limitations exist.

Win98 SE should read up to the 2TB limit along with WinME.
