Six viruses in one Mozilla Cache file

I’ve managed to go 15 years and only pick up one virus in all that time. Ran NAV this am and came up with 6! Investigation showed that a house guess, without asking, went online and used IE, which I avoid like the plague! Naturally, Norton could not Repair, Quarantine or Delete the files! Tried to run NAV in Safe Mode and get a message NMAIN has caused a page fault. I’m running NAV/Norton Internet Security 2005 under Windows98SE.

What seems very strange to me is that Norotn’s description of all 6 viruses states that they all reside inside one file, apparently a Mozilla Cache file! This is the exact statement :

The compressed file [Source File] within C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\cha rlesadams\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\Pam-1\8uvgvi6m.slt\Cache\AA1FC93Bd01 is infected with the [Virus]

Source/Virus: explorer.exe/W32.Jeefo
Source/Virus: servers.ini/Trojan Horse
Source/Virus:: script.in/Backdoor.IRC.Flood
Source/Virus: sup.reg/IRC Trojan
Source/Virus: script.ini/IRC Trojan
Source/Virus: mirc.ini/IRC Trojan

Can this single caches file be deleted safely? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Since nothing Norton suggested was working, and since everybody here was kicked back and relaxing (and I can't fault anyone there!)I finally bit the bullet and deleted the thing. Of course, when I rebooted it came right back! Then I remembered something I tried the only other time I picked up a virus and couldn't dump it. Figuring the virus was using Windows services to replicate before allowing itself to be deleted, I reached back towards the Dawn of Time, and rebooted into DOS! Deleted the thing there and Voila! Gone! I checked the registry as instructed by Norton for entries for each of the viruses, as well as checking the win.ini and systems.ini for alterations, and found absolutely zip! Everything appears to be normal!
