I have two sites on differnet networks of our WAN. I am managing both sites using the admin tools installed on my laptop and am connected to the central site.

One has a site code of LAR (this is the central site) and one has the site code of FAL (this is a child of the central site).

If i set up the LAR site discovery method to Active Directory System Discovery to discover all the systems as per OU in that site and if i also set up a network discovery for the local LAN of the LAR site what sitecode will the systems recieve ?

I would assume LAR ?

If i set up my child site (FAL) in the same manner what site code would the systems in that site receive ?

I would assume FAL ?

If this is correct how long should it take for me to see both LAR and FAL systems in ALL SYSTEMS ?

Cheers
Craig

Forgot to mention that BOTH servers have their own SQL databases. Is there some setting that adjusts the replication time or something ?

Cheers
Craig

Site codes on the client are determined by the Site Boundaries that you list in SMS 2003.

Just like Active Directory Sites and Services, you need to define you site boundaries in SMS 2003.

So if you have two sites, you need to define boundaries for each site. There are several ways to do this..but the basic way is by subnet.

Florida subnets would get set in the FLA site (for example)
10.10.10.x
10.10.20.x

New York subnet would get set in the NYC site
20.20.10.x
20.20.20.x

Depending on what subnet your client is located will determine the site code.
