Sites and Services over fast WAN connections?

Is their any reason to setup different sites and subnets under Sites and Services if you have 10Mb or better WAN connectivity?
 
I wouldnt look at as why would you, but why wouldnt you? Even a 10Mb pipe can get saturated, resulting in possible failed GPO application. I want my clients authenticating to the closest DC. Besides it only takes about 5 minutes to setup.

Just my opinion,

Good point. I wasn't thinking about the client authentication aspect.
