Hi,

Following is a sitemap file I made. Please help me by answer my questions after "???":

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset xmlns=" <url>
<loc> ??? Do I need to append index.asp?
<changefreq>daily</changefreq>
</url>
<url>
<loc> ??? I think this one is fine
<changefreq>daily</changefreq>
</url>
<url>
<loc> ??? Can I use "*.asp" here?
<lastmod>2009-09-5</lastmod>
<changefreq>yearly</changefreq>
</url>
</urlset>

Thanks a lot for your help.

The point of sitemaps is to tell search engines the URLs of all your pages. There's no point in telling them "there's a whole load of pages in this directory that all end in .asp" - what use is that?

Since you're working in ASP, you should be able to dynamically generate a sitemap by looking at that directory and pulling out all the filenames.

That means use the default page at /aFolder, rather than all files, AFAIK.

Why not just accept you need to specify all files?

Thank.

I got a few thousands of files!

Well, (if I can do) *.asp is better than a few thousands of lines in the sitemap file.
