I am a free lance web designer, self taught and in need of some guidance. Key word here is Free, i do all this stuff in my spare time for difference groups and organizations without asking to be paid. And I'm sure some of you will think that is a good thing when reveiwing my web pages...

That being said, I have 3 websites that I created and I would like some opinions and suggestions as to how they can be improved, what needs to be changed, etc...

I will post each one here individually so that comments can be directed to each one seperately. Thank you for all your comments...

Well, here goes:

[ol]
[li]the design look/feel is too 1998. Instead of using an image for the title, use the <h1> tag (formatted using CSS for a better look).[/li]
[li]the image on the left/right has a darker color background and is very apparent against the white background. if you much use the image, make it transparent[/li]
[li]the menu bar in FF is left-aligned, while IE is center-aligned[/li]
[li]Get rid of the counter. That went out in 1999 (along with the webring)[/li]
[li]use CSS and a liquid design to make the site look more conformed (do a google search for liquid design)[/li]
[li]don't use mailto: for the 'email us' link -- that launches the users email client (like outlook), if someone is viewing this site on a public computer they wont be able to comment/contact you. Use a web form instead, much cleaner and safer as spambots wont index your email and send spams. [/li]
[li]validate this on w3c validation and I get 137 errors.[/li]
[/ol]

Just Imagine.

Personally I hate scrolling. And you have a lot of scrolling going on. I would put more links to split the pages up.

I looked at this on my laptop and had to scroll to navigation.

Not sure about the time specific welcome ?? Look at CSS for the menu, and cut the in-line javascript.

Cheers
