Guys,

I would be very interested in some feedback.

I currently have a site up and running called which I am redesigning at the moment as I think it looks quite unprofessional.

If someone could take a look at the new site at this address
and let me know if I am going in the right direction with it.

It is still in it's early stages so any input would be very grateful.

Anyone have any ideas for the header

Regards & Thanks

The new version looks much more professional. However, when I open the homepage it takes me some time to understand what this is all about. Perhaps, you could make text "Find A Grind is Ireland's fastest way to find whatever type of tuition you are looking for" more prominent. I'd even find a nice font and put it on a top orange bar. Sure there are other ways to go about it.

Tks for the input that homepage is only a working prototype
when I complete it it will look totally different

Hmmmm... the first thing I'd do is find out how widespread this usage of the term "grind" is. I couldn't find it in any online dictionaries, and some brief googling seemed to turn up mainly references from Dublin. So you may be limiting your target audience (even within Ireland) if you assume that they all know what "grinds" are.

I'm not going to comment on the design, since it's apparently going to look totally different anyway, but give you a technique to use in developing it:

Consider the people that are going to visit your site - pupils, parents, tutors, teachers. What is each of them looking for? Give them an easy path to find it from the home page.

Tks Chris this website is for an Irish audience so
the word grind is widely used here what it means is looking for tutition for subjects people are studing at school.

I'll take what you siad on board

I too am confused about the grind. When I first opened up the older site I thought it was a dance club search engine. Then again I live on the other side of the ocean. [lol]

I am not sure if this is part of what is going to get changed but here is my 2 cents:

I like the background watermark. It blends well with what appears to be an eraser line on my monitor. Dont ask....I dont know.

I would try and make all of the pages content container the same. For clarity look at the differences between them. Click your links fast and see the overlay differences. I can divide your pages' layout into about 3 groups: (no box): Home, How it Works, and Contact. (box): Tell a friend, Register, Login, Forgot Password, Feedback. (too long): terms and conditions.

I would merge the first two (box and no box) into one. Make them all either have a box or not. For the box side: I notice that on most of them you have a double title. For example look @ feedback. It says Feedback in large letters at the top and then again below ">>Feedback".

For the T&C page. This page is subconsciously awkward because the border at the bottom of the page dissappears. This could be easily solved by 1) spreading out the T&C across >1 pages or 2) put the actual T&C in a large textarea or scrolling div.

These are just my opinions....take them with a grain of salt. A large one.

Tks for your feedback, you have made some valid points.
Always good to hear these points early in the development stage.
