seems to be a lot of wasted space... Could the logo be incorparated into the picture and perhaps place the nav below in a more compact manner... Also, there is a lot of wasted space in the services nav area

I like the logo!

I think you've got the amount of white space about right. It probably need a bit more padding in places - in the News box and on the RHS of the main text. The margin between the side boxes and the main text is a little wide, though.

The text on the top nav links should be bigger, probably bold too. I don't think they stand out well in black - try yellow or light grey, or make the bg paler and use a dark blue-grey. I'd lose the underline too, maybe putting it in on hover, folk are going to realise that they're links.

The side navigation needs bigger, bolder links too. Again the black doesn't really work - a dark blue-grey instead perhaps?

Consider using a blue in the top/side bars that is closer to the colour of the sky in the photo. It might end up lacking in contrast though.

Edit the photograph to paint out the bird(?) to the left of the windmills - it just looks like a speck of dirt (which maybe it is).

Lose the big 'Please note that the term "web site" has been used here instead of "website".' paragraph at the bottom. Which of your visitors is going to care?

Use the same font in the "latest news" box as you use elsewhere in the page. It looks like you've forgotten to change the font in that box - whether or not that's actually the case.

I'd be wary about having a "latest news" box anyway, unless you're sure you're going to have plenty of news to put into it. A "latest news" are that's dated umpteen months ago just screams "Dead Site!" (not that you have this problem at the moment). Design your page such that the news box could be missed out altogether when there's nothing to report.

I didn't look at many of the other pages. The copy does, indeed, need work. Triple-check the spelling ("catagory" = category) and the grammar ("Latest 5 Entry's" = Latest 5 Entries). The whole text is a little stilted and has a slightly keyword-overstuffed feel about it. Sometimes reading it aloud will help you smooth out some of the rough edges.

Maybe a couple of images will help balance out all that text. More windmilly, airy photos, or the standard happy/intense people in suits stuff. Both could work.

Use the same blue for the "News | Site Map | Directory | Contact Us" links at the bottom as you use elsewhere on the page.

we'll just have to agree to disagree on the white space, but with the browser window maxed out and my res at 1024 when looking at your page I get content or photo on only about 35% of the screen and then have to scroll to get the rest of the content - way inefficient...

on FF the main body of the text looks fine. On Mac/Safari all the text is pushed down.
The only thing that really bothers me is that the blue color of the background clashes with the blue of the sky in the photograph. Those two shades of blue clash. You could tone down (desaturate) a bit the background blue or change the tone of the sky in the image. The change might be subtle but in my opinion would improve the general impression.

Nice clean lines - may need a bit more padding in the left hand menu and news boxes.

I agree that the hue of the main background clashes with the hue of the sky. It also clashes with the menu background. I would match the the 2 backgrounds and make them either match the sky or contrast a bit more.

I wouldn't have used a serif font in the News box with sanserif everywhere else
