We are in the process of moving our sms 2.0 SP4 on NT to W2K and SQL2000. We cannot modify logon scripts so our plan is to remove the site boundaries from the current site and let workstations uninstall the client sw. In the meantime we will build the w2k environment. When it appears that all clients are unassigned and uninstalled we would add the subnets back to the site boundaries of the new site, perform a network discovery and remote client installation on workstations.
Is this an acceptable approach? Is there a better way? When you remove subnets from the site boundaries and the client sw uninstalls, it appears that the guid, reg. entries and ms folder remain. What effect will this have when discovered by the new site? Any suggestions are welcome.
