Hi guys, Can a whole bunch of ya do a site for moi?? This is the address: In the "models" page, theres a side-menu there, that seems to appear at the top of the page and I can't figure out why...when I load the page via DW, the menu appears where its supposed to, but when I upload it to a server, the menu gets pushed to the top...why??
Thanks folks... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Hi there,

Just a few comments,

the unfortunate banner takes up so much space that you'll need to use your page space more wisely. The page width is ok but maybe you could make the button links vertical, on the left side perhaps. The main thing visitors should see when they view your site is your important content, unfortunatly the see the logo first, the links, the voting table then the news table. You need to get the important info more centered and more prominent.

I havent checked the code but it looks like you've used frames on the models section? Personally i'd get rid of this form and the frames, it all looks very cramped there and now you have a second banner there.

Build a proper models page and include links to the models that can be seen all the time. If i click on one of the models names I have to use the browser back button to check the other one, visitors should not need to do that.

If you want to use a form you'll need to find a better way than that and you'll definitly need to add more text fields instead of just name, address, comment. Perhaps put the form in a pop up window!
And you should build a contact page with your various contact details.

hope that helps

Hi cian, thanks for the input...a few remarks:

1) About the logo, I am planning making it a little smaller, maybe the about the same size as the MSN logo or HOT JOBS logo (if you've seen those logos)...
2) I tried the buttons on the side, verticaly but they do not look godd, the buttons under the logo seem to look nice...I will be shifting the other content around once I get more information to put up...

3) The MODELs page has a side menu that says: Male and Female link, if you click on either Male or Female a drop down menu appears, that has the models name as links...I used iFrames on the MODELs page to make the models pics/bio appear neicely snug (only in IE4+ and NS6+, NS4 will load the page in a new window)...

4) My main concern at this point is on the MODELs page with the side-menus...on all the IE browsers i've checked (all 800*600 reslolution) the side-menu appears at the top of the page and I can't figure out why...any ideas?? WHen I preview the page from my hardrive via dreamweaver the page loads perfectly...Geocities by degault puts in those annoying banner-ads on the page, as aposed to pop-up ads (we do have a paid server which I will use this weekend to post the site), but as of now, why do the side menus appear at the top instead of the defined position??

What browser and screen resolution did you check the site with??
Thanks...:) I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

PS -- Thinking that something in the geocities code may be interferring with the side-menus, I uploaded the files to another site: and I still get the same results... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Nevermind, I figured what the error was... I have not failed; I merely found 100,000 different ways of not succeding...

Hi,

Couldnt reply before now,

I'm using IE6. Didnt know those were drop down links on the models page.
I checked the second link you said and it looks better. I guess part of the problem was that the banner took up so much space, but on the second link you gave the links do look good under the logo.
I still think the main content is not prominent enough, I'd reduce the width of the voting table and comment table, maybe by 25%, which will allow you to open up the main table a little bit.
Maybe play with table bgcolours to highlight that table?

Just some thoughts, let me know when the page is finished will ya?

cya
