Hi,
Recently the sites that my work company creates and then hosts using the hosting company for clients have been subject to a very odd issue. We get several complaints from viewers of several different sites that they cannot access the web pages (they simply get the error 'this page cannot be displayed'), while others, including our office, see & browse our sites perfectly.
I have tried to narrow down the variables, it is not browser based, but I think the majority of the users who experience this issue are using ROGERS internet as their ISP. I have tried troubleshooting one client to clear his host file (recommend on microsofts site as the solution to this error message) and it worked, but I cannot believe this is the only solution. Our hosting company does not know what it could be, though I suspect it could be something on their end as they are the common thread that links all these sites (unless its the site code, which is very different on all the sites...new or old)
Can anyone here try to access some of our websites and see if they get the 'cannot display page' error, and perhaps tell me your ISP or anyother information you think will help?
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I could not find anything other one that was close to my problem. If you can recommend a better forum I could get answers from, by all means let me know and I will close this thread.
Client customers are complaining, thusly our company is getting emails from the clients and I am at a loss for what the issue could be!
