site becomes unavailable immediately after ftp upload

Hi,

We are running IIS 5.0 on a Windows 2000 Server machine. Immediately after uploading a file the site becomes unavailable. I get the following message Internet Explorer cannot open the site....The connection with the server was reset.

Wierd thing is, non of our clients have rung to complain about uptime and I have rung a friend who is able to view the site from another location while I cannot.

Any suggestions appreciated, I am stumped.
