I have an SIS motherboard with an on-board(built in) video card, WIN98. I'm trying to add a better video card to the system but when I install the new video card, the system won't allow me to use either one of them (no display). Do I need to disable the current video card in device manager 1st? Any help would be great. Thx

It depends on your motherboard and the choices you have in the bios.
Typically you will just need to set first display device to AGP but sometimes you have to disable onboard AGP by simply changing from enable.
Some SIS motherboards also have compatibility issues with later graphics cards, for instance I know the SIS 630/730 chipset which is used on many of these integrated mainboards (from PCchips, ECS and Matsonic to name but a few) don't work with Geforce FX5200's.
If this is the case, then I suggest you return what you have bought and go for a "MORE POWERFUL" Geforce 3 Ti500 or similar, they are available as refurb or second hand (yes more powerful) and more compatible.
