Is there something I need to turn on to enable SIPCallTrace? I am trying to capture calls from one cs1k to another. I have msgi and msgo on at both locations so I can see DCH messages. I have SIPCallTrace on on at both locations, but only see SIP info from one site.

This is the SIPTraceShow from the NON working site
SIP Message Trace Level : 0 - SIP Message Trace - Summary
Output Type Used : RPT

Trace Options for Channels
-----------------------------
Channels SIPMsgRecv SIPMsgSend
=========== =========== ============
0 - 4000 ON ON

Trace options for numbers
-----------------------------
No trace options set for any numbers

I even tried loging in as admin2 and turn it on. Though I know that isn't the issue cause at the working site I can use admin1,

Thanks

it looks like its outputting to a report, maybe there is an option to display it (TTY) or see if you can look at the report file.

I changed the NON working side from TTY to RPT because that is the way the working side is. I was trying to match each site.
Spent a better part of the afternoon on this, the best thing is I found there are a ton of options with useful info I didn't know existed.

I use the log file from base manager SS app log, it shows all types of problems in there, VTRK messages either SIP or H.323 are all there.

you can always go to PDT on the SS and:

pdt> syslogLevelSet tSIPNPM,6
pdt> vxshell

--> SipNpmDebugPrint=1 (0 turns this off)
--> SipTransparencyDebug=1 (0 turns this off)

This will give you a high level sip trace.

have access to a datasniffer.. much cleaner way to trouble shoot.. those are soft now, you can download one for almost nothing.l. if you have access to a linux box you can download one for zero dollars.. with full features and filters.. if you buy one, make sure you have filter options.. as you have seen, 30 million pages of data doesn't help a lot.

Ok just an update IF anyone in interested. Spent most of the morning on the phone with our NOC. The traces are not making it to the syslog. Not even getting debug messages. Going to load patches, and reboot.
