SIP Trunks from a carrier onto CS1K

I am new to the Nortel stage, I am trying to design a solution to connect SIP trunks to the CS1k 5.5 from a carrier however I have some most basic questions to get me started.

1. Is SIP native to the CS1k and what min version will I nead.
2. Can you point me to the correct doc's on this.

Read it very carefully as not all SIP Providers are accredited for use in the CS1K environment. The reason I say this is that we made this very same mistake and are now paying for it as our provider is not recognized by AvayaN and we have issues in regards to the compatibility of various services Fax being one example and because our provider is not recognized AvayaN are being, shall we say, awkward to say the least!
