So looks like noone out there know how to setup a sip trunk between two sip servers?

Think you need to actually describe what you want to do, what you have tried, what you hope to achieve etc etc...

You have posted what looks like a very vague statement.

For exapmple, I need to set up a SIP trunk from an Asterisk server, to xyz. I have the trunks set up, and they are connecting, but I am unable to get any audio.

I don't use Asterisk, but doesn't mean I couldn't help on question like.

The more specific your question, the better the answer you will get....

thanks for the reply.

Ok you are very correct.

The goal is to connect a sip server here in US (asterisk) to another sip server (APPLICO) in another country China.

this is my sip.conf outbound trunk
type=peer
secret=*********
username=********
host=sip.****.com.cn
fromuser=*********
canreinvite=no
nat=yes
disallow=all
allow=gsm
allow=ulaw
allow=ilbc
allow=g729

Not sure about China settings, but you may want to allow aLaw as uLaw tends to be US and Japan.

What sort of link do you have...

I would use IAX trunking instead of SIP.

TRUNK NAME
server111

allow=all
context=from-internal
host=[enter the ip address of server222]
insecure=very
qualify=yes
type=friend

server222

TRUNK NAME
server222

PEER DETAILS
allow=all
context=from-internal
host=[enter the ip address of server111]
insecure=very
qualify=yes
type=friend

Isn't AIX trunking only between * boxes?

I have setup trunks to traditionl phone systems using just the trunk that he has already setup. It could be the remote end. Never worked with that brand of system.

Yes, IAX is a asterisk protocol, but most sip servers will utilize IAX as well.

I still have not had a chance to make this work any help is appreciated.
