SIP TRUNKING UPGRADE QUESTION

My organization currently uses 1 full PRI circuit connected to each IP OFFICE 406v2 and 412s at each of our four locations. WE would like to move over to an MPLS solution with Paetec. How many SIP Trunking licenses will I need to achieve the same level of operation and will I need voice compression modules and if so how big?

Dont' quote me, but....
1 PRI is 30 channels
you will need 30 SIP trunk licenses per site if you want to mirror how many channels you have at each site.
you will need VCM 30's for the IP400 kit, but I don't think these are available new anymore.

There are lots of things to look at, so get an Avaya BP to look at this and give you a price for the project. Might be time to look at upgrading to IP500's.

If this is US then the PRI is 23B and 1D channel.

Do you guys only get 23 channels period?? I thought you could get 30 channels also?? Or is that just ETSI??

We only get 23 with PRI and 24 with straight t1. The only time i have ever seen 30 is when we may connect equipment back to back not out to a provider.

Jamie is right but the 400 serie's vcm cards are end of sale so you need to do a little searching for new or used cards.
