SIP Trunking RX Issue on IP Office

Hi all,

I have an IP Office 9.1.6 running SIP trunking from 2 completely different SIP providers. SIP seems to run fine for several hours, and then no inbound or outbound calls will pass through. Registration to SIP servers is lost. When I check Monitor I can still see the IP Office sending SIP Options packets but is not receiving any SIP messages from either server. A router reboot fixes the issue and we are back in business. I realize I should not have to manually port forward UDP5060 and RTP but should I do this via the router? I have not run STUN on the SIP facing interface either. Thoughts? I don't want to break this worse than it is.

Thanks for the assist!

C5J.

Any SBCs? Not that this is your problem, but IF you had a pair of HA Siperas in the same subnet and they were doing HA failover for whatever reason cause they're not happy, they do some gratuitous ARP where call servers in the same subnet will flip out and you always put HA Siperas in their own subnets inside/outside isolated from the PBX and carrier at layer 3.

Haha thanks Kyle555.

These is a cloud based SIP proxy that the IP Office connects to. No SBC on site. This is a simple IP Office to SIP proxy in the cloud.

what model and version of router? maybe there's some sip gateway in it that's foolin around. do you get replies to options pings on either side, or maybe some authentication flow if you use a username/pass flakes out and doesn't get a re-register thru or the timing's off?
