I have a customer that is looking for a SIP solution at the carrier level. I've never connected SIP from the carrier to the BCM other then when tying multiple locations together for VoIP. Also, i've contacted a couple local telco's and they say that the SIP products out there are not very reliable right now. So, my question is:
1-How would you connect the BCM to a telco provided SIP trunk pool
2-Do you know of any reliable SIP trunking providers

Thanks in advance

The SIP provider will install a router at the customer site and give you an Ethernet handoff that can be directly connected to one of the BCM ports or to a data switch set up with a voice VLAN. Try some of the cable providers or CLECs to find a carrier. An alternate method of using SIP is the SIP-to-PRI or SIP-to Analog route that is usually just as cheap and has been around several years.

thanks for the feedback, i'll try it out and let you know what i come up with...

i have actually setup a BCM450 connected to a SIP provider directly via SIP. never got the authentication via username/password to work though so we just used IP authentication.

i configured outgoing calls to the SIP provider just like how you would program going to another BCM. incoming calls are via DID. works like a charm.

the name of the company here in the philippines is VOIP Global Inc. i just dont know how to contact them since i let the end user contact them if i need anything from their side.
