I have an NEC SV8100 and I'm trying to setup a SIP connection to an external SIP proxy. The connection is established as I can observe successful SIP OPTIONS and can make incoming calls from my SIP proxy to the NEC with no problems at all.
I can not make any outgoing calls. When I try to make an outgoing call I can see the the name of my SIP trunk appear on the endpoint display but I get no SIP messaging appear on the wire when using wireshark. It's as if the call can not leave the the NEC for some reason. Has anyone come across this issue before? Is there any sort of trace I can run to see what is happening on the NEC?
Also I could only find SIP trunking examples that use registration, the SIP proxy I'm using does not accept SIP trunk registrations, can anyone confirm that SIP trunking with out registration works? (If you have any examples that would be great)
Thanks
