I need assistance on some SIP programming please!! (HELP!!)

We have just moved to a new telco - IINET and using a Mitel CXi controller.

I have managed to hook up the IINET SIP trunk to the controller with all the basic configurations (without a SIP Proxy/MBG)- just directly to the internet, however when I do tests, I can receive incoming calls without any issue, but when I tried dialling out I get an Out of Service error.

Funny thing is I can only call out after an incoming call is initiated. I am not sure what is happening to be honest :(

I am getting this error in the logs:
Fail to get IP for fqdn[sip.wa.iibusiness.net.au] . Check DNS server to if all Resource Records related to this fqdn are provisioned correctly. Or check if all IPs provisioned for this fqdn are reachable/in service

Has anyone experienced this issue before?

I have that document with me as well sarond, however it was written in November 2008 and a lot has changed from that era.
Say for example, this document was probably designed for the ICP version 8 or 9 controllers, which does not have much options as the MiCD 7.0 I am using now.

The document has the IINET SIP server as mitel.bvc.iibusiness... (do you the end of this string)... the settings I am given are DOMAIN/REALM: sl01.iibusiness.net.au and SIP PROXY: sip.wa.iibusiness.net.au.

Just to add to the above, I get this log when calls comes in, and then SIP trunk fails until another call comes in -

SIP trunk IINET Account 0861810186 Registrar sl01.iibusiness.net.au has registered successfully. The registration will expire in 3600 seconds

Here's another error which is the cause of the link failure -
The SIP link IINET has failed with cause: RequestTimeout - (Options) Please check the connection between the controllers.. The link will be retried in 120 seconds.

To be honest I haven't had much luck with SIP trunks without MBG except Telstra SIP Connect (MPLS)
I think you'll find life will be easier with MBG.

Thanks Sarond -

I have managed to fix the issue [peace] -
So here's what I did - since the link was dropping because of a time-out session as per log error, I kinda knew that I have either increase the re-registration timer or probably enable NAT alive packets. Doing that, I was into more trouble than I was originally in [shadessad]

Then it occurred to me that something internally was dropping the traffic - since IINET was not helpful enough (support is ****)!!
Anyways, I enables the "Always Active" on my SIP peer and whalla!!!!!!...it worked!!

Good to hear.

Are you using the IINET Trunks on a standard internet service? (ADSL)
I am curious as to how well it works without an MBG. What type of router are you using?

Yes, I am using IINET on an ADSL connection without an MBG [2thumbsup] Works perfectly, I have not had any complaint so far from the client.
I am using a Fortigate router/firewall (although I am no fortigate expert - a friend helped me set the fortigate up)

On a separate note, you mentioned MBG the other day. I have just installed vUCC and vMBG for a client, with SIP trunks + teleworker + UC
Locally everything works perfectly. Now the issue is when I try to connect via teleworker, the sets boots up correctly and you can hear the ring tone and even dial.
Just after a minute or two, it drops again and hangs on "Contacting Server". This stays on for 10 or so minutes and then reboots again, and the process repeats itself. [ponder]

I have opened up all the ports on the firewall inbound and outbound, still no luck.

Any ideas??? [sadeyes]

I am getting the following errors on the MBG - active-connections:0, Ip:1.151.251.XXX:6912, Reason:SS read failed - Connection reset.(104), Icp:192.168.27.3, ID:08:00:0F:67:3E:6F, Acceptor:SSL
