We have deployed virtual MiVoice Business Release 8.0 SP3 PR2 with a virtual MBG and SIP trunks. Everything is working great, except for one annoying issue relating to music on hold. We don't have any system music on hold, yet when users put external callers on hold, they far end will hear the carrier's music on hold instead of silence. We have set option 'Avoid Signaling Hold to the Peer' to 'Yes' under SDP options for the SIP Peer Profile. Are there any other settings that should be considered?

Thanks for any help!

Finally figured this out. In conjunction with 'Avoid Signaling Hold to the Peer' being set to 'Yes' for the SIP Peer, make sure Music on Hold is set to 'Yes' in system options, and upload your own .wav file. I uploaded a 10 second .wav of silence and now the customer is happy.

I hope this info helps somebody out!

oh geez... for pete sake, load a music file. Nothing more aggravating than being on hold without knowing you're still on hold. Record your kid playing his trumpet for school band... that'll be royalty free and scare the heck out of the caller.

All kidding aside, glad you figured it out.
