SIP Trunk Between Avaya IP Office and Asterisk - Call Parking / Unparking

I am trying to integrate our Avaya IP Office and a Asterisk phone system.

Avaya = 54XX
Asterisk = 1XX

I am able to call between the 2 phone systems with no issues, I am just trying to get the call parking to work. I have tried short codes and making new short codes of #5437608 which works perfectly on the Avaya but I get a busy sound on the Asterisk phones. I am hoping I am just missing something simple, any help would be great!!

Never going to work. Parking calls is a feature for IP Office phone users. No short code is going to work for an external user.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Maybe....

Create for each Asterisk user a user in IP Office with the same extension number as in asterisk but with a leading 4.
Then you have users 41xx, enable mobile twinning and let the Avaya users dial 51xx for a asterisk user.
If a asteriks user calls a Avaya user it will be shown as if user 41xx calls and the asterisk user can use Avaya shortcodes.
