Hi all,

I'm trying to understand the trunk alert mechanism behind the IP Office 500 in order to further troubleshoot some SIP issue. What triggers a "trunk out of service" alert and what triggers it to clear? Is it whenever a real voice call got interrupted or there is a continuous ping to the VoIP proxy or how? We're being hit by some 30 sec flapping(IPO tells me) and don't know what exactly happened.

Thanks

You need to use monitor to troubleshoot SIP issues rather than just SSA or alarms :)

I'm pretty much at the stage where I need to understand how IPO senses such short outages. I'm guessing there is some sort of session keepalive mechanism going on instead of continuous ping to the VoIP proxy but not 100% sure...
