Hi Guys

After spome expert CM knowledge

I'm trying to connect a CM to a Mitel 3300 via SIP. Got the doc off the cisco website and done what i can. I can call from the Cisco extension (1006 or 1009) to the Mitel (3211 or 3009) no problem.

However when i try to call from the Mitel to the Cisco it won't work. Did a SIP Trace on Wireshark and it it shows the call manager rejecting the calls with a 404 Not Found code.

Almost saying that it can't find the extension? Am i missing some translation thing in the CM?

Any help would be appreciated

That's a status error indicating that there was an error in the request which prevented the server from being able to process it.
Are you using or requesting authentication? If so are the credentials correct?
What version of ccm?
Is there a gateway involved or are you just creating a SIP trunk connections directly to the call manager?
I doubt there is a gw involved but I figured I asked anyway.

interesting you should mention authentication because i'm not using any. But in the docs i was given in the Mitel SIP peer there was a user name and password under "Authentication" but no explanation of exactly what username ans password it was.

Do you create a username and password in the CM somewhere.

And yes i believe it is directly into the CM

When you set up the SIP trunk in ccm you had to select a SIP trunk security profile that had to be created before you created the trunk.
At that security profile is where the authentication happens and it has to match the credentials from the MITEL.

I would delete all the authentication and get it working that way with open credentials. After that you can play with securing it.

whykap

Yeah i set that up but couldn't reallt see any options in there. Give it a go though

no joy

Definately like there's some sort of translation missing.

Any other ideas?

It's sounds like you need to debug the sip trunks to get a better picture of the problem...

I am having the same issue Between a 5.5 CS1000 and 7 Call Manager.
Nortel accepts the call from Cisco But the Callmanager refuses the call from Nortel.
Call manager is set for open credentials, something must be missing in our Callmanager programming or it just doesn't play nice with others?
