I have a customer who has 3 BCM400s (rel 4.0)and 1 BCM50 (rel 3.0) all connected via their MPLS network. I can connect to them all ok but the problem is that all te 400s have H.323 voip trunks in them and the 50 has SIP trunks. I can't for the life of me get the 50 to work with the 400s. The 400s all work fine, all systems have the proper keycodes (MCDN, voip trunks etc). I've asked several other techs (Nortel included) and no one seems to be able to figure out how to set up the 50 to work H.323 only.

I know that in the voip protocol that you can switch between sip and H.323 but that's not the issue. There are sip parameters that need to be configured irregardless of that and the system won't let you ignore them.

I'm hoping that someone here has been able to make a similar configuration work somewhere else and can enlighten me.

Do you have h.323 key codes they are different that the sip keys?Plus to get it to talk to h.323 you would need h.323 keys-BCM 50 VOIP gateway auth codes.

I probably missed that part when you explained it to me, i was under the impression that all bcm's(400's and 50) had SIP trunks keycodes. So if it's really the case that in the bcm's 400 you have Voip gateway trunks and the bcm50 has SIP Gateway trunks it won't work. The Voip trunks in the bcm50 has to be Voip Gateway trunks like NTKC0224.
Generate the try'n'buy keycode "Voip Gateway 2 trunks" and configure it under H323, it shouldn't ask for any SIP credentials.

Let me make sure I understand. I have a customer replacing 3 MICSs with BCM50 3.0s and keeping the sets. The corporate office is an MICS 5.0 which will use a VoIP Gateway.

What is the correct VoIP Trunk keycode to insure the 3.0s can use H323 with the Gateway and not be SIP only?

Adversity is Opportunity

NTKC0224 is the correct keycode for a "VoIP Gateway 1 trunk" .
I never tried hooking up a Mics to a Bcm but if you read DigitelD latest threads, i think he installed one lately.
