Strange issue, but probably my lack of understanding.

I enabled the check box on QoS monitor fo the SIP trunks on my SRG50.

When phones are operating in Normal mode they get one way speech, even local phone to phone call. In Local mode they work fine. Remove the check. Phones function correctly.

What have I missed about the QoS monitor ?

In SRG Normal Mode the phones are registered to the Meridian switch and the SRG50 is out of the loop. The VoIP trunks are not even in play unless you use the IP trunk (H.323 or SIP) for local trunk access (which the M1 then re-routes the calls back to the SRG50 across the IP Trunks and out the local trunks connected to the SRG50).

Program the IP sets to manually register to the M1 and test again, you will find the problem there.

I disbaled the QoS monitor on the SIP and the phones worked correctly. Definitely with that little check box.

As you say, in Normal mode the SRG doesnt really use the SIP except for routing Local to Normal.

I'll have to setit up in the lab.

Then you have far more problems than you think. Like I said, while in normal mode, the phones register with the M1 and not the SRG and therefore, the SIP trunks or any other trunks for that matter on the SRG are not involved.
