Hi,

we are using Avaya 8730 on CM 5.2.1 where we've E1 cards for PRI terminations on G350 gateways.

now since there are technology changes done at Telco end , they are providing SIP line replacing E1 PRI.
we are not willing to get our devices changed hence after lot of struggle they provided us SIP to E1 converter.
from converter to G350 gateway , we connected through cross cable but still we are getting 138 failed.

kindly suggest configuration changes which we needs to be done for making SIP line configured.

A lot of providers are using SIP on the backend and providing PRI interfaces for customer equipment. They should be able to tell you the exact settings.

I would first suggest a straight through cable and not a cross over. Most of the time we use straight through to providers and cross over for tie trunks between PBX systems.

Hi, failing 138 means you have no layer 1 (physical) connectivity. I like to call it the air gap test. Until you pass 138 you will not be able to proceed. as @zerozeroone states try a straight through cable. Avoid Ethernet cables if possible.

We're all ignorant, just in different subjects.

If it's Vodafone, whatever config they tell you they have done the router will be set up differently [mad]
