Can you use a third party SIP phone (snom 360) on a BCM. My guess is no but i just wanted to see if anyone made it work. I am thinking that nortel only uses H323 phones.

No, SIP phones can't be used.
Nortel phones use a proprietary protocol called "UNIStim"
H323 is used for Trunks and also some H323 clients may connect. But SIP is only supported for trunking between other Nortel PBXs.

Usually a SIP phone needs to register. BCM 4.0 and R2 do not support registration.
