There is no way to use SIP IP phones with the IP Office, right?

There is on R5 as I am using one now, but that isn't on general release unitl end of summer this year :)

So R5 is hitting at the end of the summer? I heard that it will be a paid upgrade, is that true?

It is licenced yes, however it will be in with the price of future systems (TBC) and they have dropped the upgrade to Pro licence on that release :)

So instead of upgrade to Pro, you will just be able to get the 5.0 license?

Are you using a beta right now? Is it open?

Or it will be included with future IP Office System purchases?

I am using it yes, if by open you mean free to download then No, you need to be part of the trials :)

Amriddle01 did you get it running from external?
Got it running internal on my WIFI using a Nokia E66, when I try to register it thru GPRS using the external IP address of my internet connection it only registers but I cannot dial.

I have the 3CX SIP softphone working from external by port forwarding on my external IP, but I also had trouble using mobile clients on a PDA etc...I borrowed my bosses phone so I had to stop trying :)

Will release 5 be included in IP Office system purchases after it releases?

I couldn't get Xlite to work consistantly, I found 3CX much better, @thebopps I said earlier it is planned to be included in new system costs TBC :)

I also found the 3CX much better, although i couldnt get transfer to work on either.......

Andy was it tricky to setup to work externally?

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

Nope, I just set up a NAT rule from an external IP address to the IP address of the IPO and set it to block all traffic except SIP ports, it works great :)
