SIP failover

Have a BCM450 R6 with SIP trunks and the customer wants the service provider to provide geographical failover if their SBC goes down. Problem is, the BCM can only accommodate one IP address in the SIP trunk setup.

I would have thought that the ISP could do everything on their side but apparently not, They want the PBX to direct outbound calls to the secondary SBC if the first one fails.

Anybody ever done that before?
 
All that I can suggest is that they have a fail back to regular PSTN circuits, whether they be digital ISDN or Analogue trunks and that would be assuming that they have licenses for it.

I also agree with you and I can't see how you could get the BCM to register to more than one Session Board Controller.
