GM,

This is my first thread, so bare with me. I am running IPO Server edition as a hosted solution. We are experimenting with different SIP endpoint for our customers. I have found that SIP endpoint only follow short codes for ARS, but when I add a SC to disable the user from calling each other as I do for H323 phones it does not follow SC. Has anyone run into the same problem?

Thanks,
Oscar

You cannot prevent user dialing.
The server edition is not ready for hosting yet.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I can prevent user dialing on Avaya H323 sets but not on sip. Is that what you mean.

I already prevent users from dialing each other on Avaya H323 sets.

Then you are doing it unsupported.
This is the way it is.

Your system is not set to use dial delay count, so as H323 phones overlap dial (sends each digit as pressed) you can prevent user dialling as a shortcode can match before the full extn number is dialled, but SIP works differently. It sends digits en bloc (all at once) so it always matches the extn as extns always win over shortcodes when both match :)

We've been approached by Avaya for hosting; the startup cost was a bit... over the top.

I presume it would be a server edition specifically designed for this, that would include tenanting to accomplish exactly this; like Mitel3300/MCD/MiVoice Bizz or whatever name they're using now.

The server edition does not have tenanting.
Avaya approach you to host it is against there own statement that the server edition should be used local only.

There isn't any yet.
Maybe in a next release but that should not be running yet.

OK I now understand.
That is part of a new release.
