We have a 3300 MXe2 with MCD4 Software. The Wan interface is set up with a static IP address and we can use the internet etc from the internal network. We can connect via "VPN" to the WAN interface and access the 3300.

I have port forwarded 5060 & 5061 which I believe are the SIP ports to the 3300 internal address. The X-Lite software refuses to connect, although if I use VPN from the PC and program X-Lite to use the internal address it works fine (this is not a solution)

I have proved the port forwarding by using 443(HTTPS) and this works fine.

Any suggesions appreciated.

In your port forwarding, 5060 should be UDP rather than TCP (whereas 443 is TCP).

Not sure about WAN/LAN ports on the Mitel (we normally only use the LAN one)

SIP+NAT can have all sorts of issues.

Ports 5060/1 are forwarded for TCP & UDP, probably is to do with NAT, would be good to know if anyone else has got it working.

3300 is picky what domain you use for registration. When you connect to LAN interface everything will match. When you connect to external it will refuse. X-Lite has domain field in settings, so enter internal address in there and external in SIP proxy settings.
