Hi all,

Just looking for everyone's preference regarding IPO working with the following SIP cordless phones :

Panasonic KX-TGP500B04

SNOM M9R

SNOM M700 w M65 handsets

Yealink W52P

VTech VSP600

Those Panasonics have been discontinued and replaced with the KX-TGP600 btw, but I have used those, the 600 I mentioned and the Yealink, they all work as well as each other really :)

None of the above. DECT in every case is a lot better.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I have another question regarding SIP cordless phones.

If you have one SIP base with one handset that would be considered one extension on the IPO.

If you have a SIP Base that can connect 6 handsets to it, can each of those handsets be a different extension on the IPO or is it still considered one IPO extension?

Thanks

You can register 6 extns, each extn would require a 3rd party endpoint licence, we do it in our warehouse with the Panasonic :)

Just to confirm.

I can buy one KX-TGP600 base along with say 7 additional KX-TPA60 accessory handsets (for a total of 8 handsets). Add 8x 3rd Party Endpoint licenses to the IPO. Configure 8 different extensions in the IPO. Configure 8 different users in the IPO. Program each handset with a different user.

All 8 handsets will work off one base as 8 different users. I can take one TPA60 handset (say Ext.201) and dial anther TPA60 handset (say Ext.202) and it will work?

No, I meant DECT going into an analog port. Like you can buy at any DIY shop upwards. SIP (a poor analog emulation) is an unnecessary problem.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Not on the end of a VPN or fibre connection it isn't, it's necessary, unless someone has found a way to pass a line cord through a network connection (if they have I want in on that) :)

That is called a ATA I believe... ( the long wire through a ethernet network )

We prefer to use Gigaset for SIP DECT as it support repeaters and to our opinion they are more solide as Panasonic ( which we sell also but only on Panasonic installs ).
The Panasonic handsets look and feel cheap...

Hi,
You can also take a look at Spectralink 8440.
They can also be deployed in IPO environment should have strong AP's to take care of large coverage need . Granted, 8440 is quite expensive but they are very durable. We are quite happy with them in the hospital.

Thanks,

Hence the tumbleweed bouncing through the thread, along to the sound of distant bells and a gently howling wind :)
