You'll need to purchase one "Third-Party SIP Line" license for each Cisco phone you will be installing. It costs more than a Nortel SIP license because they want you to buy Nortel SIP phones.

No I don't want to install Cisco Phone with my Nortel. BasicallY I want user on my Nortel Phone registered to My Signaling Server to call on Cisco Phone registered to Cisco Call Manager. The connection between Call Manager and CS1000E should be SIP Oriented.

Is this possible using current licenses?

Yes you could set up a SIP trunk, you only have 8 Licenses but if that is enough for you crackon.

NRS needs static entry to Cisco Call Mangler

And the CCM needs a route to the Node address of the CS1000

Thank you so much bignose21. I will be thankful if you can provide me some material that can help me accomplishing Nortel end steps. Screenshots and Captures will be appreciated.

So you already have a signalling server is there Virtual trunk set up at all? If not you need to:

Enable SIP Only against the sig server in the Node properties in element manager. Is there an NRS on your network, because you will need one, put the details for it in SIP and H323 settings in Node.

Create a Zone for VTRK

Create a DCH something like this in LD 17
ADAN DCH 20
CTYP DCIP
DES sipvtrk
USR ISLD
ISLM 4000
SSRC 1800
OTBF 32
NASA YES
IFC SL1
CNEG 1
RLS ID 5
RCAP ND2 TAT
MBGA NO
H323
OVLR NO
OVLS NO

Create a Route Data Block in LD16 main stuff is:
TYPE RDB
{}
TKTP TIE
{}
VTRK YES
ZONE 255(zone you just created)
PCID SIP
CRID NO
NODE 1000 (The Node ID that the Sig Server is in)
DTRK NO
ISDN YES
MODE ISLD
DCH 20 (DCH you Just created)
IFC SL1
PNI 00001

Rest of RDB can be at default you can change stuff as you need it.

Create Members on route:
DES SIPVTRK
TN 160 0 00 00 VIRTUAL
TYPE IPTI
CDEN 8D
CUST 0
XTRK VTRK
ZONE 255
LDOP BOP
TIMP 600
BIMP 600
AUTO_BIMP NO
NMUS NO
TRK ANLG
NCOS 0
RTMB 20 1
CHID 1
TGAR 1
STRI/STRO WNK WNK
SUPN YES
AST NO
IAPG 0
CLS TLD DTN CND ECD WTA LPR APN THFD XREP SPCD MSBT
P10 NTC

AACR NO

In your NRS you need to register the CS1k and you need to put in a static entry under Gateway endpoints for the CCM.

Thanks, now m stuck to NRS thing.. still trying to build up a concept so I hope u guys will help me. Tell me how can I work out with NRS, from scratch. I can see NRS IP Address but I dont know where to define it and how to access it. Thanks.

you need to find the book "IP Peer Networking" or "IP_Peer_Installation_and_Commisioning"

same book different title depending on Rls. There are step by steps guide for H323 and SIP setup

Yeah Thanks, I went through it and I successfully configured NRS as well. I am now trying to make configuration to register X-Lite SIP Phone... I appreciate for any guidance. Thanks.

There have been a few other posts on the X-Lite SIP phone - might want to try a search.

Tried and working on it. I have purchased an IP Pool from my ISP. When I try to use nslookup for my Signaling ServerS IP, it gives me a string lets say static-ip-isp.com
When I try to put this static-ip-isp.com in my browser, I get my Signaling Server Web Page opened. Does this means I have an A and PTR Record? I can use it as Service Domain Name?

Thanks for your kind guidance...
