Hello all.
Has anyone try to succesfully setup a sip client in a pda with Windows mobile 6.
I have both sip trunks & sip endpoints licenses in ip500.

What do you think?

You also need the networking in place to allow the PDA to register the Sip client from the Web/LAN, but yes it can be done, people on here have had varying levels of success depending on chioce of Sip client :)

Thanks.
Im gonna test it in a Windows Mobile 6 HTC device.

also SJPhone works, fring installs a lot more then just SIP

Just to make it clear: Do i need to register to an internet sip service provider in order to have username/password?
Is it possible to make sip calls using local (LAN/WiFi) connections between pda and IP500 ?

Regards

To make calls between pda and IP0500 you don't need a sip service provider.
Just register your PDA as a sip client into the IPO 500.
Then you can make calls between your LAN/WIFI PDA and the IPO 500.
Works great at our office.

fring will let you use your 3g connection when wi-fi isn't available, which is pretty cool.

I have both ip endpoints and voice networking licenses.
Do i have to create an ip line; and for what ?
Doesnt work yet.

You need to configure a sip extension
you do not need to create an ipline !

My question about ip line was related to the amriddle's post about need of networking in place.
Anyway im still trying both SJ Phone an fring but with no success. :(

thanks peter ill retry tomorrow step by step, something is not right with wifi NAT settings i guess.

Just tested SJPhone it works for me;

Initialisation:
Account/Password Inquired/Saved ticked.

SIP Proxy:
"Domain/Realm:" Internal IP of IPO (the rest unticked)

Sip registration:
"Register with Registrar" ticked (the rest unticked)

Advanced:
Leave default

DTMF:
"RFC2833"

STUN:
"Use discovered addresses in SIP" ticked (the rest unticked)

On the IPO add a SIP extension(only untick forced auth) and user, give it a phone number/name then only give it a "Login Code" in the Telephony/Supervisor settings

By netwotking I mean you need a route to and from the IP office to the internet in place that allows SIP traffic :)

ok here we are.
SJ phone works!
Now my goal is to make an HTC tytnII device to connect and register to IP500 by its own telephony interface, without use of external application like SJ phone.
I installed the latest .cab for MS win Mobile 6.1 to enable SIP calls to the htc and looks like it works only on internal calls to and from IP500.
When the caller is from outside lines voice quality is awful or both sides cannot communicate at all.
Has anyone try to do it ?

Check Codec settings, default it's on G.723 (GSM Audio) change that to G.711 and second G.729
