Does anyone know the steps to get the TTY to output messages when logged into the signalling server? I have been trying to run SIP call traces and get no output to the TTY. Here is an example of what I have turned on.

=== VTRK ===
== SIP Trace Setting (tSSG) ==
SIP Message Trace Level : 0 - SIP Message Trace - Summary
Output Type Used : TTY

Trace Options for Channels
-----------------------------
Channels SIPMsgRecv SIPMsgSend
=========== =========== ============
0 - 4000 ON ON

Trace options for numbers
-----------------------------
Calling/Called Party Number NPI TON SIPMsgRecv SIPMsgSend
============================ ============ ============== ============ ============
4598 Undefined Undefined ON ON

I cannot get anything to come across the TTY when logged in through "putty".

The only way i know.
Type into putty
SIPCallTrace tSSG on

then type
tail -f /var/log/nortel/ss_common.log

now you have output in your putty window.
To end the output strg+c

hope it helps
